Senior Data Engineer
Are you passionate about building robust data infrastructure and optimizing data workflows? Azendo is seeking two talented Senior Data Engineers to join our evening team. Working hours starts from 1pm. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ensuring data availability, integrity, and performance, and collaborating with data scientists and analysts to provide the necessary data infrastructure for analysis and modeling.
Work location: Bangkok, Thailand
Key responsibilities:
- Participate in all data-related aspects of the consulting engagement life cycle, including discovery, implementation, measurement, and continuous improvements.
- Load, analyze, and profile data to identify necessary transformations and client involvement.
- Design data mart solutions to meet discovery and implementation data needs while planning for long-term support of measurement and continuous improvements.
- Load data into Azure’s proprietary Measurement tool and ensure its availability to the Data Science Group and Profit Realization team.
- Design and implement inbound data merges for data refreshes.
- Automate the entire data process to ensure it is repeatable, includes validation, and has proper notification/monitoring mechanisms.
- Design and automate data pipelines for cloud-hosted client-facing dashboards, modeling extracts for continuous improvement models and client-facing interfaces in services applications.
- Support ongoing delivery team data requests and additional automations.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to unexpected client data, bugs, or technical problems.
Required skills and experience:
- Proficiency with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, and SQL Server.
- Experience with Python and PySpark.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in roles like Database Developer, ETL Developer, or BI Developer.
- Strong analytical skills for performing root cause analysis and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Proven experience in building and optimizing data pipelines and working with large datasets.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both technical and non-technical, with an ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and clients.
It is a plus, if you have:
- Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Knowledge of big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with Azure messaging services (Event Grid, Event Hub, Service Bus) and scripting languages (R, JavaScript, Scala).
- Understanding of JSON format and working with JSON documents.
