AEMG’s Academic Division
The Academic Division oversees and delivers AEMG’s academic programs, managing educational initiatives in collaboration with partner universities. These include:
- Teaching visit programs delivered by partners
- English language courses embedded in degree programs in China
- The DEP English language test
- Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral Qualifying Programs
- Academic subjects taught on behalf of global university partners, as well as International Credit Courses delivered at Chinese universities
About the Position
The Academic Discipline Coordinator – IT & Computer Science is responsible for the academic content, management and delivery of relevant discipline courses within AEMG programs and partner university courses. This includes courses in Collaborative Articulation Partnership (CAP) programs, Qualifying Programs and other discipline-specific courses required by partner universities in China.
In this role, you will ensure the academic quality of discipline courses while developing and teaching engaging content in both face-to-face and hybrid learning environments. You will collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders and work closely with colleagues in AEMG’s Education Department to ensure all courses meet quality standards and achieve the desired teaching and learning outcomes.
This role is primarily based in Surrey Hills with travel to China for up to 10 weeks per year as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning & Development – Coordinate and contribute to course mapping for relevant discipline areas, working closely with course coordinators, teaching operations staff and program leads to support course planning and delivery.
- Teaching & Learning – Collaborate with the Director of Teaching & Learning to develop engaging discipline content and assessments in various formats; deliver discipline courses in hybrid mode, including face-to-face teaching at partner universities in China.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance – Support compliance with institutional policies, regulatory standards and accreditation requirements related to educational programs, curriculum design and teaching practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- PhD in a relevant discipline
- Minimum of five years’ teaching and coordination experience in higher education
- Experience and proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, communication and leadership skills
- Knowledge of academic program development, curriculum design and accreditation processes
- Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (or equivalent qualification) is desirable
